To understand the painting of this spanish artist isn’t easy, to comprehend the person Vicente Moltó is almost impossible. Uniting soverainly all imaginables contradictions, is forming nearly an anarchist situation:
nothing counts anymore
nothing goes anymore !
Moltó loves the South, but is - however- obliged to the North.
He speaks constantly about independance and liberty, but is infiltrated for a long time by a conventional, incouspicuous way of living. To his fellow men mediates a sovereign, cosmopolitan impression - really is a timid, almost shy hermit nature.
Persons who are in contact with him, will be surprised again and again. His ability of reaction is enormous great; explodes in his colourful pictures, converting the colourin an object of composition. With everyone of his pictures he sells a piece of himself.
The painting exhausted him, but is - perhaps - the only constant of his life.
Refuses decidedly to compare his art with any other art orientation or to interpret it.
